2021 Small Business Scholarship Program; deadline extended to Oct. 18

Despite the continuing economic challenges of COVID-19, we know many small businesses have found footing in seeking ways to innovate and grow.

Do you know a small business ready to take that next step?

Our Small Business Management Scholarship Program is now accepting applications for this year's program. This program is conducted by Portland Community College’s Small Business Development Center in partnership with the Portland Business Alliance, greater Portland’s Chamber of Commerce.

Up to 14 small businesses will be awarded scholarships to participate, thanks to the generous support of Bank of America.

  • Have at least one employee
  • Are seeking ways to grow and expand
  • Topics of SBDC classes include:

SCHOLARSHIPS OFFERED

In an effort to promote small business and job growth, each year, the Alliance offers scholarships for 14 small businesses to participate in this program.

Scholarships cover most of the costs to participate in this program. Tuition costs are $1,800 and after the $1,300 scholarship is applied, fees to participate are only $500.

In addition, each program participant will receive a two-year membership to the Portland Business Alliance, valued at $845/year, for a total scholarship package valued at $2,145.

Program scholarships are made possible thanks to a generous partnership with Bank of America. If more than one representative from the small business participate, additional fees may apply. Portland Business Alliance values working with MWVB/E businesses to support equity and inclusion. Business owners with certified or special socio-economic status are encouraged to apply.
